Summer Birthdays!!

Alan is 2!

Alan loves horses and tractors right now. Alan always dumps out the entire basket of Lincoln Logs just to find the horses to play with. So I got him these horses and he still dumps out the Lincoln Logs to find the horses??

Alan also got a trike that will take some growing into. He also got those green boots which are easy for him to put on when he wants to go with Daddy around the farm.
I made a strawberry Jello cake. A favorite from my childhood, I requested it a lot!!

Jared wanted oatmeal cookies for his Birthday. He made a request for half raisin and half craisin.
Jared's parents gave him a family memento. It is his Grandfathers WWII shadow box. A very special gift for Jared I know he really liked it.
We spent most of Grant's Birthday at the Lake at his request! We were visiting family in Royal City WA during Grant's Birthday and I forgot my Camera. So these are his only Birthday Photos. Courtesy of Katie Allred (Thanks Katie). He had an amazing birthday thank you to all the many Allred's that helped to make it a fun day! Big thank you to Uncle Jerry and Aunt Chriss, Tyson and an extra Thank you to Derek and Carly for dropping everything to accommodate us. I know some piano and swim lessons were missed and who knows what else. Thanks a bunch!! Grant had two birthday cakes a steak dinner and I made him puffy oven pancakes in Carly's Kitchen for Breakfast. Grant is now 10 years old.
Oh and Grant learned how to knee board!!

Brett and Tia's Wedding

How the night started, both Alan and Travis asleep.
The only picture of me. David asked if he could take my picture. I am glad he did, because I was behind the camera all night. Good shot David.
All 8 siblings pose for a picture.
Jackpot!!! Okay, David, like a lot of other kids is obsessed with candy, so when he discovered the candy buffet he was in hog heaven. Now I understand the saying "like a kid in a candy store". Really though he was there all night. He filled bag after bag after bag. I was hounded by many with comments like "did you know David is getting more candy?" " How many bags has he had?" "Do you think he will break anything on the candy table?" "There he goes again!" What was a mom to do??? I just let him go at it, I figured I would be on the losing end of a battle all night. I am sure there is a super mom out there that could of handled this but not I. Besides I was running after a two year old in heels all night.

Can you blame the kid check out this candy buffet!!!!!!
Don't forget the back side. Oh I forgot about those pink and green candies they were chocolate mint. yum and can you see the size of that chik o stick next to them. Holy cow biggest one I ever had. Huge, bigger than a hot dog.
So for David it was the candy, for Jared it was the crepes. Made to order so delicious. I had one with chocolate custard and whipped cream and then dusted it with powdered sugar.
I am proud of this cute shot of Tia giving Brett a kiss. I also think my in laws look nice in this shot. I am the worst photographer so when I get a good one it means a lot to me.
 And more candy!!!
Jared and Alan on there way back from the Candy.
 Alan and cousin Annie.
 Jared and Alan again.
Grant and his Cousin Owen. I love how in every picture I have taken of these two over the years Grant is always doing something funny in the photo and Owen is posing nicely. So typical of them both.
So, good food, fun times and congratulations to Brett and Tia, who now have a blog of their own. I have to complement Tia on her clever name www.theallredfrontdoor.blogspot.com. Happy for you both and welcome to the family Tia!!!

An Allred Piano Recital

Grant and a few of his cousins performed at their recital. It was kinda a family affair I think there was only 2 performances that were not Allreds. Grant and Josh in the picture above.
Grant, Lizzie, Sara, and Josh Allred.
Grant's new piano teacher-his Aunt- Kami Allred. I am so glad she could be his teacher, it saves me a lot of driving!! We will miss his former teacher Amy Parnell.

Growing up!!

Grant earned his Bear in Cub scouts. Here we are at the pack meeting as they present it to him and I was presented with a pin. This reminds me I have a few patches to sew on his uniform!!
 David's preschool Graduation.
 The pledge.

Singing the "The days of the week".
 Singing "Mr. Golden Sun".
There were not many options for preschool this year so I organized a trade with 3 other Moms. We each taught one Month a semester, so twice a year. It worked out nicely. I hosted a Graduation at my home. Here I am giving Lane his preschool diploma. I don't know why my photographer did not get a shot like this with our son in it???

Easter 2011

Yummy Treat!! Got the idea from a commercial. I used the Cadbury mini eggs instead of the robins eggs, I like them better and I thought they would look pretty too. I think this picture explains how to make them. We made them for FHE activity and Treat.
Every year the Easter Bunny hides our Easter baskets, and this year they were a little more challenging to find. We find our Baskets on Saturday that way Sunday is a little less hectic and a little more spiritual.

 Grant found his!!
 David spotted his too.
There it is up in the tree.
Fun Fun, Grant , Alan and David.

Preschool Field Trip To the Zoo

 .

A few Pictures of David and his Preschool friends; Lane, James and Morgan. We had a great time at the Zoo! It did get a bit hot but the Zoo had a fun water area for the kids and it cooled everyone off.

2nd Place @ District Pinewood Derby

Because Grant won 1st place at the Pinewood Derby he was able to participate in the District Derby which is all 1st place winners. He got 2nd place and was qualified to participate in the Council Derby in Tucson. Some how we were not notified about when that took place and missed it. Darn we were looking forward to that so maybe next year? Grant's cousins Isaac, Owen, Avery and Ethan came to watch him and Aunt Rebecca. It was a fun day.
